Meet Madelon: A New Writer for TTC

Hi everyone!

A few new writers have started blogging for The Toy Chronicle and I am going to be one of them! I’m super excited about that and thought it would be nice to tell a little more about myself.

Pink baby Treeson by Bubi au YeungI’m Madelon, located in the Netherlands and started collecting designer toys in 2010. It all began when I saw some cute pictures of a Treeson (who’s already celebrating it’s 10th anniversary this year!) and it didn’t take long before I got my very own Treeson. After that I was hooked.

I like the work of many artists, but I try to focus on a few of them. I am a HUGE fan of the work of Chris Ryniak and Amanda Louise Spayd and I have been lucky enough to add quite a few of their pieces to my collection over the years. I really like the work of Kathie Olivas and Brandt Peters as well, but I focus on collecting their Skelves. Although pretty much no one I know thinks either of their work is cute, I do think the two words describing my collection best are cute and colourful.

When it comes to displaying my collection I pay a lot of attention to how pieces fit together and their colour plays a big part in that. I don’t stop moving things around until I’m completely satisfied with how everything looks. At the moment space, or actually a lack of it, is my biggest enemy. But that’s because I also collect the work of A Little Stranger (Caveys and Coneys), Doktor A and Joe Ledbetter. And let’s not forget the fact I really like Disney and collect both regular and custom Dunnys. Oh well, who needs space anyway?

Looking forward to write for you guys :D!
