As part of the upcoming Clutter Re-Invention Show, Gary ‘Blue Frog’ Boon has taken to re-invent 2003’s Kevin Lyons ‘Mighty Uprock Animals’. Boon converted a Kidrobot Dunny, added his own sculpting before passing to TTC’s Evan Morgan to cast.

Trying to keep as close as possible to the original, Boon also gave them his own style too. We think that a little extra finishing time could have been spent on each design, a little rough around the edges. Although the originals were simple & a little rough too. Each Animal comes with its own Ghetto Blaster and Accessory, as per the original.

The Re-Invention show will showcase customs of one art toy that are reinvented as a different art toy. Make a Dunny look like Ron English’s Rabbbit or a Munny to resemble KAWS’s Companion or… whatever the artist can imagine! Pretty neat show, by the sound of it. Clutter will be hosting Re-Invention in early September. We’ll cover any pieces that come our way in the forthcoming weeks/months.
Artists, if you’re part of a show, don’t hesitate to send details of your entry to news@thetoychronicle.com so we can give you some much deserved coverage.
