Collect & Display is releasing a very special custom dunny this month.
“Jaguar Alebrije” is the new custom work by Mr. Mitote, an artist with a great love for nature, animal defender with a great social awareness.
‘Alebrijes are whimsical carvings depicting animals, people, objects, and imaginary creatures painted with intense colours and intricate patterns. Although these distinctive cultural artefacts are often assumed to represent a long established, tradition of Mexican folk art, they only began to appear in the 1940s’.
The overall piece stands around 5-6” tall as the 3″ dunny is suspended above a wooden base.
There will be a total of four pieces available, all hand sculpted and hand painted.
“Jaguar Alebrije” will retail for €121 (about £95). They go on sale on the 25th at 8pm exclusively at Collect & DisplayHERE.
