The Shard Dunny by Mr Scott Tolleson has become a rock solid part of the Designer Toy scene for the year or so with countless colourways released & sold out. The Shard has definitely caught the imagination of the community. The real fun though begins when other artists get a crack at customising the Shard. That’s where the Custom Shard Dunny show at DCon comes in. Following the success from last year, Broke Piggy & Scott have once again made a call to their artistic pals around the globe to smash out some stunning custom pieces in time for DesignerCon. In amongst all the talented artists are three wonderful chaps hailing from the island of the UK. PJ Constable. Doktor A. Jon-Paul Kaiser. Today we bring you a look at the custom pieces that they will be showcasing in SHARD SHOW 2!
PJ Constable has been knocking out custom & original artwork for many a year now and he’s still only about 12 years old! Narh, we jest. He’s in Uni now but the guy has been cranking out quality work since he was a wee nipper. Way beyond talented. PJ has a number of custom Shard in this show. The above pictured Soul Statue is a 3inch Shard.
PJ also has this 3inch Shard named The Cluster pictured above. With an unnamed custom Shard below, with the little devil bugger riding on the back!
PJ has created an aquatic themed custom sculpted Shard Dunny which is truly great. Check out the Moray Eel coming through the Shard. The Eel is one of PJ’s favourites and one of his inspirations behind this custom. Cannot wait to see it in person next week as part of the Shard Show 2 at the Broke Piggy/Scott Tolleson booth #2005!
Up next we have the little known artist that goes by the moniker of Jon-Paul Kaiser. You can tell this mean looking bastard eats rocks for breakfast, lunch & dinner. Probably eats them as a mid-morning snack too when he’s not causing malicious damage to everyone & anyone and then when we come to the custom below created by JPK, we can tell you that that its name is Staibau, 5inches tall, and it’s an effigy of a destructive demon! DESTRUCTION!
Dok A joins the party with his wildly moustachioed steampunk’d custom Shard Dunny. With a badass moustache like this, you know this guy is going places! Absolutely riveting! Lovely.
PJ, JPK and Dok A’s custom Shards will be displayed as part of the Shard Show 2 at DesignerCon. DCon is now only a week away. This time next week we shall be eagerly preparing our thoughts towards the VIP Preview Night taking place on the evening of Friday 16th November at the Anaheim Convention Center. It’s going to be a blast. WE CAN GOD DAMN GUARANTEE IT! You know why? There will be untold number of artists to show you their artwork but there will be BAZILLIONS of friends all convening together from around the world to celebrate the very thing that we all spend so much of our life invested in.
