Do you guys remember ELZ-co first resin piece – FLOW (武CHING Ol) earlier on in the year? Well, FLow now has a partner in crime! Meet 武CHING ll – 中肝二膽. After the debut at the local cyberpunk fair in Hong Kong, ELZ-co received lots of positive comments. Therefore, ELZ-co decided to make an online release for international collectors! ELZ-co presents to you 武 Ching. Their second release with a strong message behind the design.
武 Ching portrays the social indifference among modern citizens.
Everyday overwhelming human encounters discourage personal connections. Without acknowledging individual faces, we overlay masks on others to describe and categorize people, just to be efficient. At the same time, we put on masks to present our desired image to the rest of the world. Neglecting is our consent of respect among urban creatures in inevitable close proximity. Social indifference is our living comfort zone.
The concept of 武CHING ll – 中肝二膽 (with lower-case “l”s) is about Chūnibyō.
It is a figure of a modern girl holding an umbrella pretending to be Guan Gong, the god of war and loyalty in Eastern cultures. Everyone fantasized about being a hero or a princess at a young age. Most people abandoned their imaginations and fall right into reality when facing the cruel world. However, some of us just don’t grow up. We embrace our “immature” fantasies to motivate ourselves to commit to our beliefs. It only sounds impractical when we haven’t succeeded, but what doesn’t?
The 4″ tall 武CHING ll figures are 3D printed with light-sensitive resin. ELZ-co is selling in a made-to-order style so as to fulfil everyone’s demand.
