AKABEGON is the newest character from Teresa Chiba’s “Folk Toy Kaiju” series. AKABEGON’s design is based on the folk toy “AKABEKO”.
AKABEKO (赤べこ, Akabeko, red bull) is a legendary cow from the Aizu region of Japan. In ancient times when Fukushima was hit with a large earthquake, AKABEKO supported the local people in the construction of a new temple and gave its spirit to a Buddha. People also believe that AKABEKO has the power to ward off pestilence and evil spirits.
AKABEGON is now come to you to be your new friend of you.
AKABEGON Folk Toy Kaiju has Teresa’s signature eyes and a classic Teresa Chiba color palette. Right now Teresa’s giving you the chance to be one of the first to own the Folk Toy Kaiju “AKABEGON“ 1st Colorway.
