Has it been 3 years since Benzilla’s release of an art collectable or have we missed a drop? Anyway, today was a great announcement for Benzilla fans of new and old, The one and only “Benzilla” the renowned street artist based in Bangkok, Thailand will be launching a new art collectable with the folks at Trendy Gallery! Benzilla has created exclusive limited edition sculptures by drawing much of the inspiration from “Le Penseur”, a tour de force by a world-class French sculptor “Auguste Rodin”.
Because Benzilla has a close connection with the sculpture, he wanted to re-create this work in the style of Pop Art at which he is good. His concerted attempt has eventuated in the character LOOOK who sits and ponders on a shiny silver ball that is comparable to the human soul.
It is a mirror that reflects each viewer’s point of view and encourages them to examine themselves by looking into the silver ball to see or think as well. The eyes of the character LOOOK, which are usually yellow, have now become multicoloured to reflect various emotions. As for the body of the character, there are orange-blue tones linked to the main tones that are used in this solo exhibition.
