New Orleans based, Compton III who is known for SPY BOY, the rendition of the New Orleans Mardi Gras Indian in art toy form is back “Bruh Did That?!” The title of Compton III’s most decked-out SPY BOY to date.
An ode to 1969, Compton hops in a time machine, back to a New Orleans Mardi Gras 5 decades ago. What he retrieves is a photo of his grandfather in a white & red Indian suit. Equipped with this photo, the artist recaptures that essence and old-school style in this homage SPY BOY. The perfect introduction to an all-new collection.
Mardi Gras Indians aka Black Masking Indians are known to work year-round hand sewing the most beautiful full-size suits to wear Mardi Gras day. This 1 of 1 SPY BOY is the culmination of all the techniques Compton III learned and took a span from 2019-2023. This awe-inspiring designer toy stands 3ft tall, adorned with Swarovski crystals and ostrich feathers plus hand-sewn sequins, cross stitching, and glass beading.
