Julian Briones aka Conqueringalien, “commercial sculptor, freelance sculptor, and art-toy debutante” partners up with illustrator Mark Laszlö in a release out of this world. Julian caught our attention with the Cthulhu Priestess and he managed to do it once again with this mysterious and creepy “Dry Specimen”‘
These will be released in 2 formats: a DIY, unassembled kit and a ready to display art toy. The ongoing campaign at Kickstarter is like a pre-order campaign, as the Dry Specimen is already designed, prototyped and painted;
Available in two different sizes; the Week 13 ( 5.5 cm / 2 inches) from rump to crown and the Week 19 (9cm / 3.5 in);
But that’s not all, there will be a special Dry Specimen, the Week: 35. The Big Baby version, measuring an impressive 35cm / 13.5 in from rump to crown!
Good conceptual work, we can feel some Mike Mignola vibes there, and that’s a good thing. What do you think?
Prices range from AUD$40 (24 GPB) through to AUD$120 (73 GPB).
