Back in 2019 when the world was in slightly a better place, the prototypes of Cuphead Mugman by 1000toys x StudioMDHR was seen right HERE. Powered by 1000toys who are known for their articulation in their figures showcased the Cuphead prototype was showcased at 2019 Wonder Festival [Winter]. We fell in love with the Cuphead platform which paved the way for a unique animation used in cartoons of the 1930s looking platform game and we are super happy we will get to see 1000toys make Cuphead into an action figure. Fast forward to the present day, 1000toys is happy to announce that the plucky antagonists of the game – CUPHEAD and MUGMAN – are now available as game-accurate highly-articulated action figurines!
As always, 1000toys has paid close attention to the character details, while executing the high level of engineering for articulation and pose-ability that the brand is known for.
The figurines will each come with 3 types of hand parts and additional eye parts that change facial expressions. The crown can cleverly be rotated to change the position of the straw.
Additionally, each figure’s head has a unique up-and-down telescopic mechanism to allow the fully-jointed bodies to recreate the action poses from the game.
In 2017, CUPHEAD burst onto the game scene as a unique run and gun action game inspired by cartoons of the 1930s with visuals and audio painstakingly created using the same techniques of the era. The characters have continued to grow in popularity and will soon be featured in their very own Netflix series.
