Every since September when we knew who was part of the Superplastic Janky Series Three, we have been pumped. Not just as bloggers, not just as retailers, but as collectors, we have been hyped. The three month wait hasn’t dampened that hype spirit either! Nope, probably just made it worse. However, when we received tracking details from Superplastic that our first batch of Janky Series Three was winging its way over to East London, we have been eagerly watching the Fedex tracking until we has a call from Fedex this morning that they are being delivered today!
At around 11.10am this morning, we received the great knock at the door at TTC HQ. By 11.39am, we were live streaming to Facebook, Youtube & Twitch as we were gracefully as a man with fat fingers can be, ripped open to two cases for the masses as they watched on from around the Designer Toy universe!
Needless to say, you could tell my excitement as we opened up 24 blind boxes. With those watching able to call dibs (or claims) on most of the Janky as we opened them there and then on the stream. There were a few exceptions of course, as a collector I have fallen in love with Guggimon hard & fast. So any Guggimon was claimed by myself haha. Also, Kranky too. I wanted the first to ensure that the ?/?? ration Kranky by Sket One was added to my Kranky collection. I wasn’t disappointed. We found one fairly quickly. Disappointed that it doesn’t rattle like the larger 8inch Kranky but kinda understandable as it would give the blind box game away if they rattled. More details on ratios later.
The series features the likes of Andrea Kang, Anna Cattish, Caramelaw, Huck Gee, Jor Ros, Junko Mizuno, Mark Gmehling, Pete Fowler, Ricardo Cavolo, Scott Tolleson, Sentrock, Sket One, Wattle & Guggimon.
As a Janky Junkie, I couldn’t stop at opening two cases. I’m a fiend. So when the live stream ended and my appetite for Janky Series Three grew, I dived into two more boxes to see what I could find. I wasn’t disappointed. Let’s take a look at what we pulled, shall we?
By far our favourite of the series are the two Guggimon designs along with the Sket One Kranky too (pictured above).
There are some great variants going on in this series too from the likes of Junko Mizuno, Pete Fowler and newcomers to the Superplastic world, Andrea Kang and Scott Tolleson bot have two great colourway variants of their designs in this series.
We are super happy with the Janky Series Three designs. Bringing new characters into the Janky world. Some great sculpts too. Pete Fowler’s designs are amazing, and perhaps I need to speak to my lawyers about the use of my likeness in the Fowler designs haha. Jor Ros’ design is insane, that mask is crazy! The Sent Rock cardinal mask is superb too! Mark Gmehling’s liberty design has some funky arms going on!
Ratio-wise, whilst looking at the box ratio plus the number of Janky I had opened, I think I have started to see some patterns emerge but bear in mind this is only FOUR cases opened so I could be well off with my numbers but wanted to share for reference.
Guggimon (1/96) | One found in four cases |

We think we have found all 19 designs in the series, but there could be more out there of course as more cases are opened in due course by collectors around the world.

I bought a blind box case and was lucky enough to end up with a Superplastic Sket Kranky spray can
I found a Sket One in my Series 3 Janky box and it rattles. Does your Sket One rattle too?
No, none have rattled that I’ve seen. It’s possible there is a loose bit of plastic within the Kranky which might seem like it rattles.
Hi, I received a reply from Superplastic and they said. -Thank you for your note.
-Are there any defects to the figure? If so, please send us a picture!
-If this is the only issue, it sounds like you got an extra special super rare figure!
I replied that no there are no defects, it legitimately rattles like a paint can… So I have a super rare Sket One Kranky!!
My Ricardo Cavolo rattles. Its weird
Well it is not loose plastic and it is a full on rattle so I have emailed Superplastic to confirm or not my question of its existence in the blind boxes. I’m waiting for their response..
What colour is the Kranky? The red one, right?
The colour is the same as your picture above. I sent an email to Superplastic customer service and they said if the figure is not defective ( which I replied no it is not defective)than its a extra super rare Kranky 🙂 see their reply below. Let me know where I can email you a video of it. If you want to see what I mean.
-superplastic reply to my question – I asked them to confirm if my rattling Sket One Kranky is a variant.
-Thank you for your note.
