First words had to be WOW. Thailand Toy Expo has given us another convention to talk about and giving us another con to compare with other con’s like our own ToyConUK, Designer Con and NYCC. Every Con has it’s own feel and atmosphere and TTE wasn’t what we expected, it was BETTER and it’s only day one. TTE is situated in a shopping center which we knew before we arrived at TTE but the buzz around it seeing collectors and the general public interested to see what was on offer. TTE from what we gathered was more spread out this year. Thats no surprised seeing the amount of vendors at TTE grow. All the big boys like Coarse Toys and ThreeA / Three Zero supporting TTE again, you can see the demand and the respect Asia has for these art toys.
Huge queues before vendors opened formed at vendors like ThreeA, Instinctoy, Paradise, Fluffy House, Mighty Jaxx, KAIJU SMUGGLER X DEMON STATE and ixdoll. We will see and hope for more stock for day two.

For the first day is was pretty hectic at the start, which most Con we’ve been to are especially if you’ve been planning to buy certain things. Trying to locate every booth and navigating the shopping center to try and get the designer toys we wanted was pretty tough due to bring pretty spread out. This led to unsuccessful purchases, oh well will save a few pennies. If you’re just looking to meet artist and no look for limited toys then you won’t have a rushed mindset.
Another plus point being in a shopping center is that there’s plenty of non toy retail shopping for your parents 🙂 and marvellous wide range of food!

Checking our the live painting session with TG9 x Shoko x Nakazawa was cool. Ashley Wood signing and Boy Pakorn drew big crowds.
TTE is a FREE event which opened a lot of doors. One thing that really stood out is the general public/ non collectors taking interest in the community. Hopefully making them into new collectors. The scene needs it, thanks to TTE we are sure the community has gained many new collectors and interests in one day.
Right we are off to bed now, got to wake up queue up for the Coarse Kwaii Spark and breakfast of coarse! it’s 2.50 AM here. Time for bed time.
