A few weeks ago we posted about a special, upcoming release from coarse as part of their Possession exhibition at Rotofugi Designer Toy store in Chicago. With the Possession exhibition opening yesterday evening (more details on this below), coarse & Rotofugi have revealed details on the new special LIMITED edition. The Collector. Edition Zero.
The Collector is the third volume in the coarse Ethos series (which featured Cells and Strangers sculptures). 16inches of The Collector features the Void, rejected by both the outside world and the happiness that was once inside him, now finds solace in the things he loves. As he rides toward the edges of civilization, all his belongings trail him a net floating high above. His menacing mask wards off danger in this unknown territory while he wails into the sky, one last cry for love as he and his clouds become a speck on the horizon.
Each order of this special edition set contains a numbered wooden box, one screen print, the Void sitting atop his masked Alpacumulus, a net of clouds floating impossibly behind him, and a rolled-up sleeping mat so he has a place to rest as he begins his new life.
This is a sculpture that honors what it means to be a collector even when the rest of the world might not understand us. It is now available in vinyl for the first time.

You can only purchase The Collector Edition Zero by attending the Possession Exhibition at Rotofugi this month. This colourway will NOT be sold online. Rumours swirling around that other colourways of The Collector will surface online, but this Edition Zero will be determined by the number of pieces reserved by the time the coarse exhibition ends on December 1st. The Collector Edition Zero is priced at $495. The final number of this edition will be laser-engraved into the wooden box.
Thanks to our pal, @jason_encryption who was on hand last night at Rotofugi to live stream the coarse Possession event, which you can watch below. Go follow Jason on Instagram HERE.
Jason was also happy to share the images that he snapped at the exhibition too, which you can check out below…
