‘PavOmen the PeafOwl’ is a custom painted Coarse Omen Owl by Toy Terror.
“PavOmen has assumed a cunning and colourful peacock disguise to better fit into the new surroundings he finds himself in.”
TT: “I wanted to try something a little different to what I’ve recently been doing and really focus on colour and detail. Although it’s an odd combination of owl and peacock, I was really drawn to the peacocks intricate patterns and vibrant colours and wanted to replicate that somehow on the beautiful Coarse Omen sculpt.”
“I could envisage the patterns on the sculpted feathers but as I began to study them more and more, I discovered new layers of shapes, patterns and colours, so I was continually adding to the existing layers of colour and detail each day. ”
“I used Citadel paints and some interesting cool new acrylic paints that I’m trialling at the moment.
I really love the eye sculpts on the Omen which give a nice big round surface to work on.
I finished the back with a light semi-gloss top coat to give the feathers a sheen and the front with a simple matt, flat clear coat.”
