Chorlton and Fenella was made as a part of toys of people dressed up as characters from 1970s animated TV series ‘Chorlton and the Wheelies’ for ‘Memorabilia’, an exhibition of artwork and objects celebrating childhood memories.
They are Characters from ‘Chorlton and the Wheelies’, an animated children’s TV series that ran in the UK between 1976 and 1979. The original characters were developed by Cosgrove Hall for Thames Television. I made these for ‘Memorabilia’, an exhibition of artwork and objects celebrating childhood memories which took place on 6th & 7th July at Norlington Road Studios, 66 Norlington Road, London E10 6LA.
They are both based on Kid Robot’s Bub vinyl toy with a lot of Sculpey III modifications. Fenella has wool hair and a (real!) leather belt.
